it shows we can survive as a forum with just 50 or so active member. on the other forum it was us and the other 1000 leeches

Some people from there haven't arrived here yet.

its misleading and makes the forum seem unresponsive. whats the use of mad people if they dont do anything. im not talking about people who come on every so often, but people who made accounts and NEVER signed in after making it. you see that in the members list and think hmm, whats so bad about this forum that people dont wanna come back. id rather have fewer, active members than mad amounts of wasted space.

I was one of those. I registered in March and only became really active in June or July. Another month and I would loose my account? That would give a bad image of the forum. Some people need time to get used to the forum before posting

no no no. if you made your account and never signed in, then you dont have the opportunity to get used to it. thats like me signing up for a random site and never going back even to look around. these people made accounts and then walked away, not even just browsing. like i said only those who never return after registering.

Ah. Then those are only a small part, but they should be warned before they are banned. They get an e-mail if they get a PM

Some of the ones who usually never log in and not even browse are spambots, they sometimes even pinch other people's details to make a new account. But the ones who do even once I know they're real people.

That's true Stephen, real people who do that are absolutely pointless. Maybe their confirmation emails are lost or not received in their emails or accidentally deleted them by mistake. Plus some people use fake emails and the confirmation emails are not received in order to log in.

Re: Statistics [Most users ever online was 33 on Sun 1 Nov 2009 - 21:21]
well the statistics from the old forum can be quite shocking.
- 1,300 members
- 500 of them accessed the forum since January 2009, means 800 did NOT sign in this year for a single time
- 250 members visited the forum since June 1 this year - so 1050 did NOT visit the forum since June 1st.
the good thing is that cans end messages in this forum to people with 0 posts etc to warn them to be more active. so in this forum this won't happen.

Re: Statistics [Most users ever online was 33 on Sun 1 Nov 2009 - 21:21]
I have a thought, in the other forum I am on I sometimes bulk PM things relating to the subject of the forum to get more people logging in and be more active and to get involved in projects. This has often worked and this forum format has the ability to do that. I know Anna Vissi's forum do it too.
