Post  Chris Fri Jun 29, 2012 3:49 pm

so, dear members hi!
Recently we saw that admins and moderators give a try to update our lovely forum so to be more accesable and easy for use according to the topics! and we must bravo them for good working.!

My own suggestion would be to develop more this subject about make easier the "hot"important themes about Helena!
specifically, i suggest to make someone a digital modern notification bar under our logo (PForum) if it's possible in which there will be in headlines the most read topics about Helena, maybe the latest music projects or singles, music video or her upcoming live events
of course down the corner of the bar it could be mentioned the Facebook,Twitter and website signs as long as Our PF twitter account!
Also, it could be created in automatic slides 2-3 latest photoshoots by Helena and turns automatich each 3 seconds maybe....like a poster digital wall !
What do you think??

To become more understandable i suggest to make sth like Anna Vissi's notification bar @fannatics.gr but even better!

Fannatics have the luck to having created their forum on their own database on fannatics.gr. That means that they don't use forumotion service, but the Phpbb3, which has more styles, and ways to design the whole forum. It also gives more options in the development of the forum.

If fannatics would want, they could also include phpbb3 in their site.

Maybe you didn't get me. Fannatics have installed manually this script: [Only admins are allowed to see this link]

We use this service (which creates a forum automatically, but gives less options to the forum) : [Only admins are allowed to see this link]

Forumotion can only give "fake" phpbb, phpbb2, phpbb3 skins. (That's why they call them skins. In real phpbb3 they are called styles, because you can edit them, however you want).

Anyway, if we ever switch forums again, we should definitely use the real phpbb3 script!

I read your message totally wrong and missed "That means that they don't use forumotion service", did you edit your post or something before I posted?

Whatever, I read earlier and understood like this "Fannatics have their own site, they do not have phpbb3.". Which I wanted to include that they also could have phpbb3 on their site if they wanted.

Anyway, if we ever switch forums again, we should definitely use the real phpbb3 script!
If it happens, I hope the messages will be taken to the new forum. A good postcount and activity makes it seem like a better place instead of a forum with few messages. Razz

Ok.

But it is not easy to make a totally new style either I guess, if this forum would be placed on an own site instead of being on forumotion. I assume there is a "start style" which phpbb3-team made, but having that wouldn't be as nice to have an unique style...

If someone can handle making styles, including the forum into the site and that admin are ready for taking more responsibility (I absolutely don't say she is bad, but I say she should be ready that it need more time to take care of such a site.)

If that is solved, the above. And also that the posts can be moved, then I think it could be a positive side for doing so. But of course there might be some positives and negatives that they who chose, need to think about. If the posts can't be moved I do not think I would like to change site to a site with zero posts. (Also it is not again for me, as it is for many of you.)

If this site works as the site I had my forum on, then there should be a possibility to use HTML on the top of the forum, where it says "About Our Forum - Informations for New Members..." and making a notification bar by HTML. But of course if you would like to change news and such there, it would be needed to do more manually then "normal".

Well, those "styles" are 100% convertible.
Plus the posts can be moved.

I no longer have the time neither the mood to be on the forum 24/7. I think at this point the forum is pretty good and quite easily findable and tbh I don't feel like moving to a payed service. If anyone has problem with me not being here for you all the time then send me a pm and don't let me know like this. Thank you.

Swedish!!! evileye

Tina don't worry. In my opinion - and i'm sure i'm not alone with this - you are absolutely okay as an admin and yes the forum is alright the way it is.
Anyway when was the last time when you as an admin didn't do something what we asked? I don't remember any case when this happened. So don't be upset. You have work and that is understandable. You are here anyway to check things - like now.
Even Reb wasn't here all the time and every day while she was the admin.

Dear Akos, I'm not upset. I'm pissed. I simply don't like such behaviour. I prefer direct honesty even if it's not very nice. But I guess some people won't understand that if I get home at 10pm and get up at 4am the next morning that I'm not even thinking about the forum.

I don't think that anybody had the intention to piss you Tina. Keep Paparizouing! Maybe it was stated incorrectly. Keep Paparizouing! You 've done an amazing job as an admin. Both you and Rebecca! And you 've been very helpful. I guess that Swedish only wanted to offer an idea to make the forum better Keep Paparizouing!

(That service is not paid btw) Keep Paparizouing!

I didn't say you are a bad Admin, I think you are good. The only thing I meant to say was that a forum on a own server takes more time and responsibility then these sort of forums.

Well, if you don't have a server you will need to pay for that, and also a domain of course.

I can totally understand Tina there on why she is pissed off, people have lives for goodness sakes and they can't be online all the time just to satisfy the sakes of other people. Even Reb was the same before she stepped down as admin last year. And Svenskjäveln was only suggesting things for the future there and she didn't intend to cause deliberate harm, just stating her opinions.

I'm no longer pissed off, that was long time ago when I started working at new place and we had overtime pretty much every day because we had so much work. I still have much less time than I used to have to devote to the forum and frankly sometimes I don't feel like loggin' in at all.

I totally understand you there Tina, I've been like that as well with some college schedules too and some were so vigorous in one day that I couldn't be arsed to log in forums or Facebook. I've even had lessons from 9am to 6pm and that's hectic to juggle around let alone overtime work every day.
