Helena answers to our questions on Sfera FM! News: International album in the works & New music coming up in Sweden in 2013

Make sure you send in your messages for her throughout the "interview" (not just at the beggining or towards the end of it when messages might be skipped - although I guess it's needless to say that you shouldn't send in more than a couple of them as spamming the boards would probably discourage Elena to continue reading the message board).

Here is a simple guide to making your message as effective for getting your point across as possible:

- make sure you mention your name/username and the country of your origin (e.g. Josh, USA)
- make sure you keep it clear and readable (if you don't feel comfortable with your English you can send a draft of your message and we can edit/correct it for you in advance)
- make sure you have some sort of request or complaint attached to your message so that Elena finally realizes that there is an active community of fans abroad desperately waiting for something to satisfy their requests (an international album, a tour, etc..)

Here are some topics you might want to address:
- international album (by asking when a new english language album will be released internationally)
- international tour (by asking when she will go on a tour all over Europe and if possible elsewhere too)
- neglected international fans (by asking why countries outside Greece and Cyprus receive no attention from her despite the fact they declared her Eurovision winner in 2005 and despite the fact there is a known large fan base loving and supporting Elena abroad)

Greek fans might want to address topics such as:
- neglected older hits and less well known songs in live performances (from Antique to solo career) making setlists predictable
- cancellation of plans to release a Super Deluxe Edition of "Greatest Hits & More" and the "autobiographical coffe table book"
- why "bouzoukia" over a different type of entertainment show (e.g. pop/dance music club, musical, etc..)
- request for more singing time on stage, more choreographies at her shows, etc...

...in additions to requests about your own preferences such as a music style you might want Elena to adopt for her upcoming album, request for involvement in a movie, etc...

- example of a longer message: Hi Helena, I'm Josh from USA and I've been a loyal fan of yours since 2006 when you released that awesome maxi single with "My Number One" and lots of cool remixes of it in the USA. Ever since I was introduced to your music by coincidence, I've been wondering how come you don't ever try to launch yourself internationally although you've been teasing us with all the english-language singles for a while. There is a general agreement by all your fans on "Paparizou Forum" (for the record your only international fan club/forum counting more than 1000 registered members) that you've got all it takes to be a global pop icon, so I can't wait to see you striving to reach your potential abroad! We'll be waiting, don't disappoint us. ;))

- example of a shorter message: Helena, please release an international album Europe-wide and go on a big scale European tour. It's been such a long wait but you will have our full support. Me and my boyfriend love you since the Antique days. Maria, Belgium

Once you have settled on the type of message(s) you will be sending in please do say (write below) what your message will be about so that everyone of us doesn't end up sending the same message to her cause that will look fishy and she/they might consider the possibility that a fan is pretending to be lots of people from around the world so we need to ensure a high participation and a great flow of messages (BUT NOT SPAM!!)

Come on guys, seriously. You don't think she knows she has fans all around the world? You have made sure to tell her a million times already. Elena obviously WANTS to release an english album as she has recorded it. It all depends on whether her label is willing to waste spend a lot of money to launch a project that is 100% 80% certain to flop outside Greece.

why would it flop? geez... stop saying that if she would release an english album outside it would flop. Just because there was no promotion for TGOL album doesn't mean she would do the same again. There is a thing people call: learning.
But anyway her album will be released in Greece and probably in Sweden only so I doubt it will be a europe-wide release.
And I'm sure it won't flop!

@Tsouvli: This is supposed to be a project I'm starting, I didn't ask for opinions on Elena's international potential. You can choose not to participate but please don't post opinions against the idea here and discourage members to participate, it's not very kind.
After all let her try for real at least once. If it's a real good album for the majority of us and yet it flops despite heavy promotion and all then we can no longer blame her for not trying.

An e-mail/ PM to all the members would be useful I guess!

I think she has very good potential to do something outside Greece. Starting from Scandinavia and then -why not?- expanding it to the whole Europe!
The only thing that she needs is strong willingness! I will never forget that sentence she had once said "Δε θα ηρεμησω αν δεν φτασω μεχρι το top 10 του Βρετανικου chart". I hope she still wants it, and she hasn't found comfort in singing for 1 and a half hour to a bouzoukia stage 2 times a week, and getting much money from it. I still expect many things from Helena!

if she said that in ESC era then i dont find it strange but now i doubt because i see that she doesnt expand herself in Europe. She could stay in Sweden after Let's Dance and come back in Greece in 2013, for example but.....(let's not continue this topic, cause its' up to her at all)

But she is a human being and humans can have their weaknesses and insecurities. If international fans remind her of their unconditional support this might act as a wake up call for her.

@Pano: That would be useful indeed. I guess we could contact Tina to have this done but she might be busy and I don't want to disturb her with my campaigns. I think turning this thread into "global announcement" status is enough to get it noticed, right?

For me it doesn't matter if a project for an abroad promotion would fail.The fact for me is to have a serious try not so much to achieve something outside Greece(i mean especially Scandinavia),but mainly to improve more her music and her profile and not to be in logic that whatever she would do,good or average things,in Greece she would be always the no1,mainly to understand that her fans believe in her abilities.

Very good idea generally,i would definitely join in it(even if i think is more for international fans and not so for Greeks)but,mainly for another reason,i would be there and if i have the time i would see her interview in Mall.I hope to have a good reportaz for you!

P.S If i would send her a message,or i would manage to see her one day,i would definitely tell her to write more songs by herself because everytime she did this,the results was really great(Why,Treli Kardia,Teardrops e.t.c)so,if anyone believe the same,i suggest you,if you want of course,to send this request.

@Gagi: It will last approx. 1hour! But since Despina Vandi is late for her "event" which was supposed to start @ 16.00 I guess Elena's event will also start a little late.

@Kostas: You could have asked us to send a message on your behalf. I have done this before for Akos (and I brought him luck as his message was read by Elena).

Exactly but something tells me Despina won't show up at all. It will be a bit rude if she shows up and stays there for 1 hour like nothing's changed or a good opportunity for a celebrity feud!

I think they are all in hurry to end Despina's interview soon (they've just played the 3rd song of her choice out of 5), with no commercial breaks in between. I guess it will have ended by 17.25 or something.

True, but I guess they are trying to get rid of Despina as soon as possible because she was too late plus I've already messaged Valentino (yesterday) and Natalia (today just before Despina showed up) to be so kind to read our requests and messages for Elena.

Despina just questioned if she is keeping Elena on hold because she is late and Valentino (co-host) said she is on the lift!
