I'm reading the book: Under the Eagle from Simon Scarrow. It's a historical book about Rome's campaign against Britannia.

sparknotes.com

they have overviews of the chapters and then in depth analysis of themes, characters, etc. it was a great tool.

now I have no time for reading as I have to read so many scientific articles for a report to held next week... ok, it's reading as well but I'd prefer a nice criminal story... big grin

I'm reading "A Place of Safety" by Helen Black, I have been reading it for ages but things keep happening and I keep getting distracted, it's really good though, the book includes the character from her first book "Damaged Goods" which is amazing.

** A Place of Safety **

Anna thinks she's found a safe haven -
but her troubles have only just begun...

The brutal rape of a young asylum seeker plunges childcare lawyer
Lilly Valentine into the toughest case of her life.

Teenager Anna is trying to build a life for herself after fleeing the
atrocities in her homeland. But her newly-found peace is shattered
when a chance meeting with three public schoolboys ends in her being
horrifically assaulted. Anna's friend, Artan, begs Lilly to seek justice
through the courts - but Lilly is sceptical. What jury will believe the
words of an asylum seeker over those of three privileged boys?

When Artan and Anna turn up at school determined to seek
revenge, tragedy arises and Anna is arrested. Wracked with guilt,
Lilly feels compelled to take on her case - despite the objections
of all around her.

When Lilly's family and friends become a target, Lilly has to decide
whether to follow her conscience and defend Anna - or is this case
just too close to home?

Here is the first chapter of 'A Place of Safety': http://www.hblack.co.uk/documents/Place_Safety_Chapter.pdf

Post  javi_greek Mon Jul 20, 2009 6:30 am

I just started reading twilight ( I´ve watched the film and I didn´t like it at all although I like the history) so I want to understand why is it so famous reading to it.

when I was young I love harry potter. I´ve read until the forth ( more than once ) and I bought the fifth although I´m not able to read it, Now I find it boring.

akos, what adventure books have you read?? I also love them, although most of the adventure/mistery books I´ve read are from Spanish writters.
