Re: Sweden 2010
According to the interview of Mr Melodifestivalen, Christer Bjorkman to Expressen newspaper, the 4th joker for the 2010 Melodifestivalen was Helena Paparizou. She thanked the broadcaster and she indeed recorded the song in the studio but due to time limitations she decided not to go through with the project this year. The Swedish broadcaster though is for sure making plans to book the Greek Swedish artist for the 2011 Melodifestivalen.

Re: Sweden 2010
I hope Darin and Sibel do well, I think Alcazar & Andreas Johnson should give it up already, they're getting as bad as BWO. Ola should do well because his new style is better. Also Elin Lanto and Eric Saade although Elin's voice is annoying.
Re: Sweden 2010
Well I like Alcazar & BWO lol
I hope their song is good but right now I will just wait and see. I don't have high hopes in Melodifestivalen anymore cause my fav songs never win and we always place bad so....Sweden always votes strange according to me...

Re: Sweden 2010
i didn't like sarah's song at all, but i agree about sofia, she should have won. i'm absolutely sure she would have placed quite well!

alcazar should not stop. they had one of the best songs last year!
my hopes is for darin! i really want him to have a good song! i read that it was a upbeat song, and not a ballad, thank god. i'm not so into ballads. the only one i've liked in melodifestivalen was sanna nielsen's "empty room".
Re: Sweden 2010
It's a "mid tempo ballad" I'm presuming on the same tempo scale as "Karma" ....
The previerws for tomorrow nights heat have been posted online:
Artist: Ola
Song: Unstoppable
Music/Lyrics: Alexander Kronlund, Hanif Sabzevari, Dimitri Stassos, Ola Svensson
It's not the best Melodifestivalen song and I've heard better from Ola before but it's an alright track, and he mentions "Natalie" dear god he's worse than E.M.D. with that bloody "Jenny".
Artist: Jenny Silver
Song: A Place To Stay
Music/Lyrics: Torben Hedlund
I don't like this. It sounds like an album track that isn't meant to be performed live, it lacks anything special in my opinion.
Artist: Linda Pritchard
Song: You're Making Me Hot Hot Hot
Music/Lyrics: Johan Fransson, Tim Larsson, Tobias Lundgren
I quite like this, I'm not sure if it's eurovision material but it's a good foot stomping pop song that has potential.
Artist: Pain of Slvation
Song: Road Salt
Music/Lyrics: Daniel Gildenlöw
Not the worst Melodifestivalen song I've heard, rock generally doesn't go down well at Eurovision with a few wxceptions .. Lest we forget Lordi! It's quite a placid song up till now but this is only a preview so it might kick off toward the end.
Artist: Daniel Ekborg
Song: The Saviour
Music/Lyrics: Henrik Janson, Tony Nilsson
Sweet Jesus! This is latching on to the whole Pop/Opera thing of last year which .. ahem .. didn't fare to well .. If this wins I swear I'll never watch MF again!
Artist: Jessica Anderson
Song: I Did it For Love
Music: Lars "Dille" Diedricson
Lyrics: Kristian Wejshag
This is a pleasant song, I don't know if it'll do majorly well, it's kind of a mash up of "Moving On" (SDF 2009) & "That Is Where I'll Go" (Sibel 2008). I do like it though.
Artist: Frispråkarn
Song: Singel
Music: Hamed K-One Pirouzpanah
Lyrics: Håkan Bäckman
Oh dear god .. Rapping at Eurovision? Did Waldo and his peeps teach us nothing last year .. Don't go there. The backing track is alright though!
Artist: Salem Al Fakir
Song: Keep on Walking
Music/Lyrics: Salem Al Fakir
This is an alright song (with the exception of Salems voice) it's got some very old school pop beats which are quite nice to hear.

Re: Sweden 2010
Ola and Salem Al Hakir have progressed to Globen with Salem taking the winners vote, Jessica Anderson & Pain of Salvation (who were rubbish) are through to andra chansen.
Re: Sweden 2010
All songs sucked to be honest...bkeh this year both Norway and Sweden are going to suck....bleh
Re: Sweden 2010
don't get me wrong I think Darin is amazing and I haven't heard that song yet so I can't say if it's good or not yet...but the rest of the songs except Darin and Alcazar seems to suck
Re: Sweden 2010
I hope you will send something good this year But I'm sure you will, Sweden always has such high quality songs
I know my norweigan friend Charlot loves Måns Zelmerlöw and if I'm not totally wrong he is the host this year right?

Heat 2: Erik Saade and Andreas Johnson are through to Globen. Paulin and Kalle Moraeus &
Orsa Spelmän are through to Andra Chansen. I didn't get to watch it Saturday because I was out but I'm not bothered. I will be glued on Saturday to hear the full version of "You're Out of My Life".

I didn't like the Andreas or Erik's songs so much but in compared to the other songs in the semi-final they were amazing!
This semi-final sucked more than the first one....
Re: Sweden 2010
Well I really hope Darin will past through directly to the finals on Saturday (which I have no doubt about ) because then me & Miranda will se him at the last rehearsals for the final in globen I really really hope he does pass through...
@ Chris, maybe I can vote for him once for you
@ Chris, maybe I can vote for him once for you
Re: Sweden 2010
i think andreas johnson song was just . i nearly dozed off. and erik saade was ok, not the best, but ok. though have fredrik kempe written the song. i have nothing against him personally, but his songs don't work in the esc! he wrote both charlotte perrelli's & malena ernman's songs. the sound has been heard before. at least the music. the lyrics are unique on the other hand. not so many "manboy" songs out there, right?
alcazar and darin will go through to the final, kick me if i'm wrong. it's always easy to predict which ones who will go straight to the final! but there have been some exceptions a few times. though i doubt it will be any this saturday.

Re: Sweden 2010
Darin got through to the fianl of Melodifestivalen .. his performance was great, as was Alcazar's but they are only through to Andra Chansen, some stupid girl group called Timoteij won 1st place! Pfft.
Re: Sweden 2010
i liked the music in timoteij's song, and it was actually on of the songs who got the higher scores from my family. the text wasn't that good, but the music was superb! and i knew darin would get through to the final! alcazar's wasn't as strong as it uses to be. it was good, but not "oh-my-god-how-good-this-song-is! at least the quality was better than the other semi-finals. my parents favourite was Crucified Barbara
and i'm happy, because now i get to see darin for real! along with the other participants that went through to the final! my sis and I have tickets to the last rehearsal before the show. and it's the same day as the show is going to be on tv. i can't wait!

Re: Sweden 2010
Oh Miranda or Rebecca if you see him and can get his autograph pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee get me one too pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaseeee
Re: Sweden 2010
I dont wanna spoil it for you guys but for me this dude hasnt got the x-factor(or anything particularly good about him either) and his song was boring to death (for me at least).
The girl group's song was kinda catchy and they were hot.Alcazar's performance was really good just like last year's but their song was meh!I just wish they had a better song. They would've probably won this year as the quality of songs is far below average.

Re: Sweden 2010
Well Derek, you're entitled to your opinion. Personally I thought it was great and I think he does have the X Factor but again that's my opinion. To be fair if he does win he probably has a good chance at winning Eurovision because all the songs that have been chosen so far have been rubbish with the exception of Norway & Cyprus but again these could be considered boring.

i agree with you chris. he would have a great chance of placing well in ESC. and to be honest derek, no other song in MF can even be compared to Darin. all of them are rubbish. at least i think so. and darin's voice is so strong. you know, there's a reason why he's famous. but i agree with you about alcazar, their song really was
Re: Sweden 2010
Oh I agree with you Miranda and Chris I think Darin's voice is soo amazing it's like wow! I promise I will fix some batteries to my camera so I can take some pictures when we're there
I think the girl-group was kinda good, the music was so amazing it was like OMG! But the lyrics were a bit lame though but I think it also could work in ESC. I hope they win the whole thing...or Darin
Darin & Timoteij is the best by faaaaar
I kinda liked the girl-rock group also they were really cool I hope they will pass though to the final from "Andra Chansen"
Alcazar could have been better last year their song were OMG-it's-amazing but now this year it their song was just blah blah....
This week it's just boring songs

Re: Sweden 2010
Jesicca Anderson is placed against Alcazar in Andra Chansen which is a shame because they are clearly going to go through but I liked her song. I think "Heaven or Hell" is quite catchy but I don't think it's right for Eurovision and as for "Road Salt", that's ok but it's too boring, I thought it was going to kick off into a proper rock song at the end but it was just placid the whole way through. I'm glad Erik Linder didn't get through, his face bothers me .. ha .. and his song was too "Cliff Richard". It's a shame Elin didn't get through but her vocals are too weak for a competition like Eurovision.
I'm looking forward to hearing Sibel's song on Satrurday and Neo and Peter Jöback too.

i actually didn't like how jessica anderson sang that ballad. so i hope that alcazar goes through. i think the rockers, or the ones who enjoys rock music will vote for crucified barbara.
i don't think i will like any song on saturday. but i will give them a chance anyway!
Re: Sweden 2010
I agree Miranda I didn't like Jessica's song either it was so boring...I hope Alcazar and Crucified Barbara goes through but I bet Pernilla is going through instead of Crucified Barbara. But at least Pernilla is better than Peter Jöback
I really HATE( ) Peter Jöback's song, THAT song bored me to death!!!
It was soooo boring and sooo bad and his voice is like a kid or smth especially when he speaks he sounds soo ridiculous! And it didn't help that Fredrik Kempe had written the song because all his songs kinda have the exakt same sound, even though they can be quite good (like Måns last year) but they're not working in ESC!!!!!!!!!!!
So bleh for Peter Jöback! Me & Miranda have a great nickname for him but it's kinda hard to translate it good into english
Well I'm glad that Anna at least got more votes than him. Her voice was actually better than I thought from the beginning. I kinda liked that song a little it was SOO much better than Peter Jöback's song!!!!!

Re: Sweden 2010
As much as I want Darin to win .. and I really do, I can't help but notice tha fact that "You're Out of My Life" is at #9 in Sweden this week whereas "This Is my Life" is #1 and "Kom" is #2 and even "Manboy" is higher than Darin .. I hope either Darin, Timoteij or Anna Bergendahl win on Saturday!!!

i agree with you! those are the ones i wouldn't mind winning the whole thing!
i heard this morning that timoteij's song "kom" was actually sent in with english lyrics first, i think the name was "run", which is kinda the opposite of "kom"! (kom means come).
if they win, they can use those lyrics. the lyrics now are a bit lame. it works, but it's not mindblowing! the music...is fantastic!!
clearly darin is underrated, because his voice is amazing!
Re: Sweden 2010
Well they'd have to perform in English anyway cause MF rules say it must be performed in English but don't MF rules also state that the original song & singer MUST perform at MF?

The Melodifestivalen Final is tonight, I'm excited .. I hope Darin wins, I know he probably won't, it'll probably be Anna or Timoteij!

it hasn't always been that way. charlotte perrelli, roger pontare & carola all had song that were performed in swedish in MF, and when they went to ESC they translated it to english.
but i don't know why they changed their minds i think that the english version would be even better.
and in MF the songwriters send in their song and then choose artist. so when they send it in, i don't think they know who will perform it yet. (unless the artist himself/herself has written it.) it's always the same songwriters, year after year, like fredrik kempe & bobby ljunggren for example. they have written MF songs for several years.

I wanted them to have Elena isntead of Alexandra cause I don't like her really...dunno why but I just don't
I LOVE Anna's voice! And she's so cute! And the song is really good! I hope it will be enough for Sweden to place good in ESC this year...because it's a ballad but she's SOO good so I really hope she will pass the semifinals and make it in top 10 (or win )
I agree Miranda I loved that my least fav songs were in the bottom!
AAlexander were funny he gave out the votes for Norway! And Maria Haukaas Storeng was there too! Her voice is amazing and she had a really nice dress

you know, swedes and norwegians are always making fun of eachother! we have like a hundred jokes about norwegian! i even saw a text message signal with a norwegian person saying "Du har fått sms" (you have got an text message)....
and i guess norway has equally as many jokes about us!
Re: Sweden 2010

Aww I really likes Jessica Andersson's song and she's really nice too. When that whole Sweden vs. Norway thing was going on, I thought Didrik was going to come out and belt "My Heart Is Yours" out but allas we had to put up with Alexander Ryback jumping up and down pretending to plat the fiddle. I didn't like so much the performance Cassablanca did with Malena, it was wierd. I don't get why so many people voted for "Man Boy", I just don't like that song!

Sorry but this time I can't agree with you. I know I don't like Fredrik Kempe but Manboy is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Jessica! Her dress were so ugly! And her voice is so flat and the song is so irritating and boring I almost fell asleep.
She were worse than Peter Jöback cause he at least had cool lights on the stage!
I knew it was Alexander who whould come, I just had that feeling! I thought he was funny!
And Maria were gr8 too and I actually liked the "Sweden vs Norway" thing it was sooo funny to watch!!!!!
But I really think Christine sucked as a host, they would be better of without her.
Måns growed for every week actually! He was an amazing host!
