Cyprus 2012

The information came to oikotimes.com as of mid March but now it seems that the Cyprus national broadcaster made its mind. Ivi Adamou will represent the island of Aphrodite in the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. The national broadcaster will make the official announcement tomorrow.
Despite the big financial problems of the country after the Economic Crisis and the huge explosion last month which caused half of the island to have power cuts and needing billions of euros to restore them, the broadcaster was in contact with Sony Music Greece sine the mid spring.
Ivi Adamou came out of the last X Factor show. She is an upcoming artist and already she is loved by the Greek public. Ivi Adamou has lots of collaborations already with various Greek singers and she is also proceeding to the next round of the Italian contest “Blue Song 2011″.
Regarding the song for Baku, it seems that Ivi Adamou will sing 3-4 songs in a special televised show in mid January as the new EBU rule doesn’t allow full internal selection without public and jury vote.

DJ Zoe posted in Ivi's thread already, but I will post it here too. Ivi's three songs will be heard on Jan 6. The titles of the songs are "Call The Police", "La La Love" and "You Don't Belong Here".

It's nice to hear some English material from Ivi, maybe she'll release an English album I agree with the public, 'La La Love' is the best choice although I do like 'You Don't Belong Here' too.

i don't like ivi's voice i don't know why but my favourite is you don't belong here! i also like the refrain of La La Love

I like them all, but my fave is Call the police.

I think La La Love should be representing Cyprus. That's the best song I think.

Saw that La La Love is written by two swedish people, on swedish-greek and one I don't really know, fun. And another "fun" thing is that there is a Swedish wikipedia-page for the song La La Love but not Greek?

I really hate the semi-final draws, they suck big time!!!

The song can change a lot with the live version, we maybe need to wait until eurovision for that..

yeah loads of singers have failed live before in ESC, I really hope she doesn't, that would be such a shame :(

I've only heard her live very few times, but only in videos ppl have filmed themselves so the sound isn't that gr8...
hopefully she'll make an awesome performance at ESC and goes through to the finals and gets a spot in top 10

Yeah... something is missing from it for me. But on Eurovision anything is possible

Lets make a conclusion of my thoughs - It will be on the top 5 or 15-25 (How many countries is there in the final? )
Because I believe the song will go to final, but then I guess it will have a good chance or a bad chance. Not between...

I bet it will be in the last positions (if it goes to the final). remember that in 2007 "comme ci comme ça" could be a winner and it wasn't in the final!
The better place they got since the semi finals were introduce was in 2010 and the song was way much better than this

If they get a good choreography I think they can get on the top! I believe the song is working with a big choreography where she dances around here and there. :-D

I have actually no idea how she will do, I think the song itself would work because of the catchy refrain and music
hopefully she will sing good in English, that's the only thing that worries me.
Somethimes her pronunciation is a little blurry...no offence to Ivi, I really love her and her music ;)

I agree. I don't like her voice that much and i believe this won't have any amazing performance as Greece, Ukraine and countries like this use to have. I don't think it will pass and it will definetly not be in top 10. But Cyprus will have at least the 12 from Greece

I think she will pass, the song is amazing and she has amazing charisma on stage.
Hopefully she'll have an amazing performance and I hope that her voice will be strong enough live

Btw great scenery and costumes and it's good this video hasn't got the same theme as 99% of videos filmed for dance songs but I think I would have liked to see a more energetic Ivi in it.
