Eurovision in Concert in Amsterdam 21.04.12

On Saturday the 21st of April, 23 participating countries for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest gathered in Amsterdam for a press event and a concert. They all performed their song in front of a record breaking crowd in one of Amsterdam's famous venues: De Melkweg.

Why only these? Got a little disappointed when I found out there was no Loreen.

I don't know why actually. Because if I were to compete, I would attend this, because it's a great chance to promote yourself and your song. Guess, she was busy. I was looking forward to seeing Cyprus there, but she pulled out a week before it.

Well lots of artists don't go to this because there are no more, that's what happend with Ivi. For example the portuguese singer had t pay the trip because RTP didn't pay anything, they said to her that they promote the song in Portugal

It is stupid that they not even can help her being in this thing, that you probably can call official. :(

yeah, because promotion is really important when it comes to eurovision. it can't help all the way of course, but it's little step towards that.

of course. For Portugal it doesn't matter that much because we never get good places, but for cyprus it was important because we never heard Ivi live

Yes, today the songs gets released very fast, for years ago the song was released close to the ESC final. I wonder why that changed.

I don't know why. Maybe it's the countries who want to be able to promote their song before the ESC. If the songs were to be released closer to the actual final/semifinal, you wouldn't be able to promote it all.

But why did they began to allow that.. :(

Dunno, maybe some countries were complaining to the EBU that they wanted to promote their song. Or maybe the record companies involved wanted the songs to be released early.

Maybe the internet made it harder to hold it secret.

Whatever the reason was, I think it would be more fair if all songs would be released later on the same date.

Me too, because then everyone would have exactly the same chance as winning. They should do as they do it in Sweden, release them shortly before the final.

According to an article Loreen (Competes for Sweden.) she wasn't in this concert because she had no time in the schedule
