I'll update the first post when I can be bothered lol.
From the songs I've heard so far, I think there's only 2 or 3 that are to be announced yet, I want Slovakia, Sweden or Norway to win!

i want sweden to win! but i'm not getting my hopes up high, it always goes bad after that point!
for the first time this year i'll wait to listen to the songs until the show "before esc" begins. they play all the songs and rate them! it will take a while, since they have to record it first, but maybe it will air in the end of april! )
you know the esc final is soooo close to my graduation! i'm finishing high school like two/three weeks after!

I think Sweden's song is stronger than the Norweigan one...and If he not places soo good in ESC it will be officialy announced that Fredrik Kempe's songs doesn't work in ESC, no matter which country it is!
And I agree Miranda I don't want to listen to anymore songs until that show begins
Re: Oslo 2010: The Entries **Listen To Them All**
I usally don't listen to them before the show, I just did 2008 & 2009
I do not want to get my hopes up before I actually hear all the songs. I'll wait I have no troubles with that
But I know for sure Sweden is the best one!!! Cause she has such an amazing voice and the song is like OMG!

why has the quality sunken so low this year? i just wonder....i like when there are a lot of good songs to choose from. i doubt i will vote this year in esc! i didn't do it last year, so why now?

The studio version is so much better vocally, live she sounds very juttery!
Re: Oslo 2010: The Entries **Listen To Them All**
I love the live version! Her voice is amazing! When I first heard it I didn't have any hopes but when she strted to sing I was like OMG her voice is amazing! She is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than Ivi Adamou for sure! And her voice 2!
Well Miranda I agree I don't think I will get surprised either cause it's not so much to choose from
I don't think I will vote either. I did vote last year, but the quality of songs wasn't that good in general and this year is going to be worse than last year, I can feel it!

I've only heard the German and Greek entry and to be honest, I think I'm to afraid to keep listening to them. I might not even watch it this year.

I have to admit the studio version is way better though, judging from her singing skills. the song I find nice, too, expecially the lyrics. and the video is fun.
still I'm afraid of the later position in esc. they did such a great job with the preselections this year, I'm afraid that they will never do it again if we don't get in the top10. i suppose if we miss the top10 this year germany will retire from esc

Re: Oslo 2010: The Entries **Listen To Them All**
So here are my current top 10 songs for ESC this year ...
01. Azerbaijan / Safura / Drip Drop
I have only just discovered this song and boy is it amazing, I'm pretty that this will win or come second going by the standard of songs this year. I love the studio version but in the video of her at the Azerbaijan National Final, where she is clearly miming she seems unable to speak English properly so I think a bit of work and this could be a winner. She has quite big teeth too, it's Jade all over again.
02. Israel / Harel Skaat / Milim
I really really like this song, clearly I don't understand a word but Harel's performance at the Israeli NF was nothing less than outstanding and if he can pull that off again, or make it even better than the votes will come rolling in.
03. Norway / Didrik Solli-Tangen / My Heart Is Yours
It feels like months since I wathced Didrik take the prize at Melod Grand Prix. I still love this song, since I first heard it I liked it, I just admit I did think A1 would win MGP but allas I think the better song triumphed. It's a great powerful ballad with "You Raise Me Up" twinges about it, I hope it does well but with Harel's better song it may not get the votes.
04. Slovakia / Kristina / Horehronie
This is a very simple song, but it's very good. I like Kristina's vocals and she looks very innocent ( I don't know why this appeals to me .. oh wait .. she is very attractive, that would be why then) There's not major gimicks here, just a nice euro song with good vocals, again I hope this does well.
05. Sweden / Anna Bergendahl / This Is My Life
Not the typical Eurovision song but then I love it when proper songs go to Eurovision (like "Firefly" last year from Cyprus) It's a nice acuoustic-esque ballad which has won over the whole of Sweden and hopefully Europe too, my only concern is that Anna's vocals are no way near as good as some of the other entries.
06. Cyprus / Jon Lilygreen & The Islanders / Life Looks Better In Spring
I do like this song, it's very pleasant just like Anna's song, I hope this get's through to the final and doesn't suffer the same fate as poor old Christina last year. It's not the strongest of songs but I do really like it, hence it being in my top 10.
07. Denmark / Chanée & N'evergreen / In A Moment Like This
This little uplifting number has similar elements to "Every Breath You Take" by The Police (Nobody tell EBU!!). I don't think this will score so high but I really like it, The pair are vocally very good, more so Chanée, it's a crowd pleaser and will probably put a smile on some faces, but it won't win!
08. Romania / Paula Seling & Ovi / Playing With Fire
I can't tell you how much I wanted Elena to win last year (I actually fell in love with her last year) and this sis so different I'm not sure about the piano's but I don't think it would work without them, It's musically very good. Piano Funk with a twist of opera (which is unnecessary) again I don't thik it will do too well but I do like it.
09. Armenia / Eva Rivas / Apricot Stone
This is a wierd one, the music is very good but the lyrics are a load of pap. At the NF Eva wasn't very good vocally but I'm sure she'll be better after practice. It makes you want to clap your hands and move your shoulders .. and want some dried apricots.
10. Albania / Juliana Pasha / It's All About You
This was probably one of the first songs chosen and I like it, from the first NF performance of her miming very badly to the Albanian version to this new English version of her miming a bit better looking like she's been playing with a plug socket .. To be honest I'd prefer the Albanian version at ESC but each to their own.
Ukraine will have their new National Final tomorrow and a place in the top 10 will probably go to them as I usually like Ukraine's entries .. and I'm a Max Barskih fan so if he wins then it'll probably be up there.

UKRAINE 2010 : THE SAGA UNFOLDS
March 20th:
Tonight, the Ukrainian nation will finally decide who deserves to represent their country in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. After some internal discussion, it had been announced that the winner of the Ukrainian final from the 6th of March, Vasyl Lazarovych, would not be sent to the contest. Instead, a new final was introduced with a variety of artists taking part. The show will start at 19:00h CET and some hours afterwards, we will know the final participant in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest!
Twenty candidates for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest from Ukraine are going to give their best in tonight's musical show and to persuade the TV viewers as well as a professional jury of the quality of their songs. There will be different music styles, from ballads to uptempo dance music and sung in Ukrainian, Russian and English.
March 21st:
The 23-year-old singer, Alyosha, won the Ukrainian national final yesterday. She performed the song To Be Free. But after the show, it was found out that Alyosha's entry is breaking the Eurovision rules: To Be Free was already released in 2008! It is also suspected to be a plagiarism of Knock Me Out by Linda Perry and Grace Slick. So it is still not confirmed which entry will be sent to the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest from Ukraine. More information will follow soon!
The Ukrainian national final was held in Kyiv in the studio of Shuster Live. Twenty contestants competed for the victory and the ticket for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. The musical show was broadcast by NTU and New Channel. Although the participants had only two days to get ready for the event, they delivered an exciting three-hour show, having presented different musical genres, from ballad to folk and rock music.
Alyosha got the ticket for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Her real name is Olena Kucher. The lyrics of her song were written in 1977 by B. Chukalyuk in America and had to wait this long to be represented in Oslo this year. To Be Free has been composed by Alyosha herself.
March 22nd:
Today, Monday 22 March 2010, marks the official deadline of participating broadcasters to officially deliver their entries for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). However, Ukrainian public broadcaster NTU has informed the EBU that they are, at the moment, unable to deliver a complete entry. As this is in breach of the rules of the competition, the Reference Group of the Eurovision Song Contest decided to impose a regulatory fine, and an additional fine for every next day after the deadline that no entry has been received by the EBU. The Ukrainian public broadcaster assured the EBU its commitment to deliver a complete entry for the 2010 running of Europe's favourite TV-show no later than Monday, 29 March.
"The Reference Group has the regulatory possibility to impose a fine or to disqualify a broadcaster when they are in breach of certain rules. In this case, the Eurovision Song Contest's governing body imposes a fine. This shows our commitment to the rules and has the least impact on the preparations of the Host Broadcaster," said Svante Stockselius, Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of the EBU.
The EBU positively concluded that the other 38 entries for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest meet the rules of the competition.
Currently, representatives from all 39 participating countries meet in Oslo, Norway, for the annual Heads of Delegation meeting in the lead up to the Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will take place on 25, 27 and 29 May, 2010 in the Norwegian capital.

Well none of the songs is amazing for me but the best ones must be Moldova, Albania, Slovakia, Romania and Armenia
I'm going to see the show! All 3 of them! Yey! And we have really good seats also
Originally I was going with my bf but he didn't want to in the end so now it's me and my Danish friend Anne
Even though I live in Norway it isn't very close to Oslo lol it's like across the country

Re: Oslo 2010: The Entries **Listen To Them All**
So after watching everyones rehearsals here is my final top 10 based on the vocals and stage performance.
01 Harel Skaat - Millim (Israel)
Since this was selected it has been one of my favourites, the Olso performance doesn't differ that much from the Israli Nation Final performance which is great because that performance was AMAZING! Harel's vocals are even better here at Oslo and the dramatic lighting suits the song very much.
02 Feminnem - Lako Je Sve (Croatia)
This song has really grown on me as has the group, watching them in interviews and such. There vocals have been perfect in both rehearsals and their stage presence is very good along with their movements. I like the way they have also incorporated the bench from the video into their stage show.
03 Didrik Solli-Tangen - My Heart Is Yours (Norway)
This has been a front runner for me since it was slected at MGP what feels like 4 years ago not 4 months. The musicality seems to be a tad weaker, vocally, than at Melodi Grand Prix but the backing vocalists have had to be factored in for Oslo due to ESC rules that aside it's still an amazing song and a very classy performance and you can't fault Didrik's vocals.
04 Kristina - Horehronie (Slovakia)
Again, another song that has always been high on my list. The performance is perfect and vocals are perfect, the only problem is that it's EXACTLY the same as the National Final performance, which is good because the National Final was great but there have been no changes at all. Still despite this it's still a performance worthy of winning.
05 Alyosha - Sweet People (Ukraine)
This is a song that has really grown on me in recent weeks, my original thoughts were that the song is too dark for Eurovision but on further reflection it's the message being sent accross that is the real winner here. I like the fact that Alyosha is taking to the stage alone with no backing vocalists or gimmicks to distract from the message of the song, well except a little wind machine which can be forgiven.
06 Milan Stanković - Ovo Je Balkan (Serbia)
Again, another song that has really grown on me, it's really catchy, the performance is fun and lively and Milan's personality has really sold this. The whole stage performance is full of energy from the start, not sure about the dodgy spinning plastic tube things which don't look very secure though. Milan's vocals are also very good, even with all the jumping around he manages to stay on track and in tune.
07 Anna Bergendahl - This Is My Life (Sweden)
This pretty little number has come along way since Melodifestivalen in March. Anna's vocals have improves ten fold she has been perfect at both rehearsals and the stage show has improved too. I don't think this has the full potential to win but it's got a good chance of top 10 as long as Anna pulls the great vocals out of the bag and managed to pronounce "Iron" the correct way instead of saying "Eye Ron".
08 Eva Rivas - Apricot Stone (Armenia)
Despite the wierd lyrics in this song I do really like it and I like it's traditionality (if that's even a word). Eva's vocals have been perfect and her presence on stage is also really good. I'm not too keen on the giant apricot stone but I suppose it's all part of the show.
09 Hera Björk - Je ne sais quoi (Iceland)
This song wasn't in my previous top 10's due to me liking other songs better but after seeing her live performances, Hera really knows how to belt out a good song and that is what she does. It's a simple stage performance but you get captured by her vocal skills and her presence, she is so nice in interviews and stuff. It's different from all the ballads this year and this may help.
10 Sofia Naizharadze - Shine (Georgia)
This is another song that has really grown on me, purely because of Sofia's vocal ability. She has been amazing at both rehearsals, I'm not too keen on all the dancing, I think she'd do just as well standing with a mic but obviously she thinks it's going to sell the song and it is different so it stands out plus her vocals are in no way affected by all the lifting and twisting.
Special Mention:
Safura - Drip Drop (Azerbaijan)
This song was my favourite song from Eurovision 2010. I love the studio version, I liked the performance at the Ukraine National Final and I've liked the live performances she's been doing around Europe BUT..... Watching her two rehearsals, she has been rubbish. Her vocals have been all over the place and the stage show is messy, they ahve gone to great extent to get the dance routine (if you can call having an epileptic fit a dance move) but to be honest the routine they had for the Ukraine NF was much more effective and simple and didn't affect Safura's vocals so much. I really wanted this song to win because I still love it but the live performances have been shocking it would just scrape into my top 15 with those.
