The same plight in my opinion concerning the songs but at least this year we see some congenial old women who have fun and not another good looking boy who tries to sing without any success

Pity that duet of Dima Bilan and Yulia Volkova didn't win. I think they were great (well, can't be too objective since I like Volkova obv xD) but I really dislike Dima.
Babushki are fun though

What do you guys think about Dima Bilan and Julia Volkova's song ''Back to her future''
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnEzHjXbbr8
they end up 2nd, but I think they would be better choice than Babushki, even though Bilan participated in ESC twice already.

Me too. Well it wasn't my favourite, I thought it was only ok. But almost anything is better than this years song.

Agree with you =)
I like Dima Bilan though =) And I don't mind Volkova either they should easily have won over the old ladies!

Re: Russia 2012 : Buranovskie - Party for everybody
ha-ha-ha They're funny I admire these old women! in their ages they are active, it's great! I think, well done they! BB are the real old womans from village and they even were in Cannes and somewhere else!! Especially i like the smallest squattish from these old women. She is so cute, really.
In 2010 and 2012 Buranovskie babushki were the best of all candidates who were on stage and sang. Their (BB's) song was the most cheerful, funny, active song which was performed on stage then. really!! In 2010 all songs (except song of Buranovskie babushki) were some kind boring, dull, dismal, I would even say, pardon me, but - the SAD SH(!oOps!)T! i have seen and heard by myself. So, in 2010 was chosen Petr Nalich. I didn't see last 2 ESC. Already not so interesting as before. And in 2012 babushki took the second chance to get luck on stage for ESC and had success on reach the final..My opinion so - as in 2010, but I saw all tv-show then, heard all candidates. In this year (2012) i heard only first 3 songs with hard and i turned off TV. REALLY!! it was nightmare!! really there was no one for listen to!! after some time I watched this show again when was voting and showed all candidates and their performances in short. OMG!!! terrible! Bilan, Timati (forgive me all of their fans), .. - WTF??!! "Bue, quickly give me a bowl, otherwise, I will vomit on the floor!!".
i saw the reportage in NEWS about BB - you can see their artistic leader on video in 1st message - leftward - woman!! Song on Udmurt and English languages. this song as had spoken in NEWS their leader - this woman - about simple life which stands close to these old women: about their families, children, how they await them in guests, stoked oven, cook pies, dance for them, etc. (it's was spoken in reportage)
May watch if you want, but reportage on Russian language.:
I think, these babushki (by the way, 'babuska' is russian old woman in affectionately diminutive, softer version, also means grandmother), of course, maybe will not win, but their performance will be funny and cheerful for all, just watch and enjoy, they're positive! i was laughing not one time.

Re: Russia 2012 : Buranovskie - Party for everybody
there's just one thing i don't understand about this! Last year everyone critizise Portugal and Homens Da Luta because it wasn't music and they couldn't sing and bla bla bla, this year everyone loves Russia. At least last year we had a message to pass! Diference: Russia will always have a great place it doesn't matter who they send. They could send a dog singing that everyone think it's funny but if we send an amazing song we don't get a place about the 6th (which was our best place)! Sorry for the ones who like it, but i can't stand this

Re: Russia 2012 : Buranovskie - Party for everybody
Wow-wow! Calm, please.. he-he yes, everyone may consider sending oldwomans in ESC as some kind like joke. (Even Russians, And far Not all Russians like those persons who send represent country and their performances, please, note, thnx. As for me, the best from Russia was only Alsou (2000), not bad - Serebro (2007), a little-little bit ok - if listen several times - Nalich (2010) (he-he, i remembered that looked ESC in 2010 when refreshed my memory in Youtube, girl's memory ) and - 'that's all, folks!', so to speak. in 2009 Nastya Prihodko sang on Russian-Ukrainian ( and in general format of song is not for Eurovision) herewith represented Russia (i think, it's a little.. ridiculous. well, and now grandmothers will sing on Udmurt language. m.. yes.. But why local (Udmurt) language, why not on Russian or only on English? I also understand, as you, ONLY 'Party for everybody - don-don-don- come on - dance", all the rest words in song for me - bla-bla-bla-bla. A little stupid it. For grannies even these english words were learned by hard. Okay.. Also I liked every years when watched ESC - another (and not ones - there are many) people representing another countries) And with such success - as you said, right, no matter who. As I know Russia won only 1 time (truly speaking, it was doubtful victory, as I think. Nobody knows for sure, only some shade persons... => => => => => => => => => .. intrigue, ahaha). Maybe I'm 'dark in knowledge', but nobody else goes on my mind (Russia even in the top ten included less than half. Even with the stars, which were super-popular in Russia (Pugacheva, Kirkorov, for example, the success was passing by, they are not even included in 10)). In my last post, I wrote that REALLY NOBODY is good among declared candidates in the qualifying round for compete in ESC, IMHO. (Babushki are the best of them )Jessica wrote:there's just one thing i don't understand about this! yes, just for fun for now, i guess. But still well done Grannies! And victory - i guess, it's a 'little' expensive and no need anymore for Russia, but for singers of any country, i guess, this contest is helpful for their career, such as contest is prestige and popular among countries of Europe abroad.
I understand your indignation. Your personal deal - chose to love or not love someone from somewhere.
But nothing is happened yet. Maybe Portugal will win, who knows..
And, I guess, but somehow politics is involved in this contest and takes a big part. I think so. May laugh, but i'm sure. That's why results are such what they are.

Re: Russia 2012 : Buranovskie - Party for everybody
what i said was about Russia but it is applied to many other countries like Serbia that in 2010 was ridiculous and finished 11th i think!
The thing is, Russia is always in the final, always! In 2006 Russia were 2nd and probably should have won, in 2008 it shouldn't. No one can tell me that Portugal wasn't best taht year. I know that we always send bad songs, but that year we didn't and we were 13th.
This performance is funny, yes, but it doesn't deserve to go to the final. I'm sure we won't go to the final and we have a great song, but Russia and many other countries will just because they have neighbours. And it's not only Portugal, it's Montenegro, Albania, Slovakia, etc.
I liked Russia last year, and for the first time in my life it didn't get a good place . But for example in 2010 it was HORRIBLE! Sorry, but it was, and it got a better place than many good songs! I hate political voting
Anyway, the only thing good about this is that at least Russia will prove that old ladies can go to ESC too and not only young girls dancing around almost naked

babushki in 2010 (tried to reach final, but not destiny was then)
Look, a little grannie rocks (shaman's dances, joke, i mean, dancinig, without drum, but with a drum - still would look good too). She is really cute.
- As subtitles for video (for saying in it), without words of song:
Speaker (voiceover): "The hardest part - the band "Buranovskie Babushki" from the Udmurt village. Under the national handkerchiefs uneasy to slide the radio microphones and headphones."
Makeup-woman: "Make-up for their style"
Little granny: "(about appearance and make-up, all stuff) (They) Nicely doing (laughs). to be beautiful."
Correspondent (microphone behind, asks at the granny): "Comfortable?"
Speaker (voiceover): "They dream to restore the church in their native village, and therefore decided to declare about themselves. Almost happened. The 70-year-old grandmothers took away home third place and the viewers' love."
(shows picture of the performance, then the entry (telling us about grandmothers) before the performance)
Voice-over (male): "The band - "Buranovskie Babushki (grandmothers)". № 14. This unique ensemble has existed for over 40 years. In their repertoire (in addition to the old folk songs) - melodies of the Beatles and Boris Grebenshchikov (band "Aquarium"), Victor Tsoi (band "Kino") and the band Queen, but on Udmurt language.
"We are not professional artists, but we love very much everything what we do", - say grannies from Buranovo the village."
(saver Eurovision Song Contest)
(and has rushing, so to speak (expression "Понеслась..") .. )
I guess, nothing wow-dancing, except that => , from the grannies we won't see.
ahah. just now noticed that behind grandmothers decoration in the form of Russian stove (white such big thing,in wooden houses in villages still such things stand, from it - the heat of house and cooking a meal there) is spinning. (video 2012 Party for everybody)

Re: Russia 2012 : Buranovskie - Party for everybody
it's about journalists' voting, which is carried out every day in press-centre of contest. There is written that in press-centre journalists constantly sing "Cmon and dance, cmon and dance". ) ahaha Also in article there is said that in bus Jedward 'attacked' Russian correspondent by questions about Grannies. Jedward had interest of translation of words in couplets and when Jedward would see favorite 'grannies' (Jedward and foreign journalists call they so). Later in press-conference Jedward said to journalist that they (jedward) think that grannies will win. the same opinion have british journalists (they said that they liked ESC in Moscow).Svenskjäveln wrote:Is it about something interesting or just in general?
From journalist of South Africa was gift disk with song PFE on african.
Also foreigners asked about strange 'white' box behind grannies on stage.(
- i wrote about it before/ it is russian stove :

the 20th of May will be Russian party.
Well, in short, all speak about grannies and forecasts that many people sympathize to grannies and think that old ladies will win.
Btw, the smallest grannie is the oldest among them. Her name is Natalia Pugacheva. She graduated only one class at school, then WW 2 started. She worked all her life on the collective farm at village Buranovo. nimble old woman, in general. small but daring.she has 4 children, 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. and sometimes her husband doesn't let her go on rehearsals, jealous) hehehe))

They will win?? Forget about it!! Yes, they're cute old ladies, but.. i don't think that they will win, well, if before i said that maybe they have chances, because of i saw not all performers more-less of ESC 2012. As 1st semi final has passed for now, i am sure, that GRANNIES will not win..

Just a little glad? I was sad they even made the top 20! I admit they were irresistibly cute and sweet but this is a song contest and their song was not good at all! Maybe as a song for little kids only...

agreed, song is really bad. song not for win for sure. and the 2nd place was .. unexpected. i saw and heard that rus people liked grannies, but, i'm guessing, not because of song, but because of their personalities, so, if we talk about song - it is very right that grannies haven't won.
