What you can see is years of work of collecting those books. Oh and the bookcase you can see on the photo is 2 meters high.

I can't post pix as most of my books I read are in boxes and I usually don't buy books but borrow them from library. It's much cheaper solution as there aren't many books I read more than 1x.

I don't have many books with me now, they're either put away in my cupboard or bunged on my shelf. I prefer reading on the internet than reading actual books now because I do not have the patience nowadays.

I always love to read a book I like more than once. And I never borrow from a library cause if I would like it I would hate to give it back. I prefer buying them. I always have patience to read them instead of reading on computer.

That's a very wise strategy Tina, I have loads of books that are only read once and it's kind of pointless to own a copy of a book that would not be touched or read again as it takes up too much room.

To be honest if it is in the case with a brand new released book, it could turn out crap even though you would expect it to be good.

I used to buy all the books until I found the wonders of the library. now I just buy the books if it's to collect or I want to read it another time

It looks like you were lucky Akos, I've had several books that I thought were crap in the end despite me thinking carefully. And also CDs and DVDs.

I'm not really into buying books, although I own about a hundred fifty. It's really a waste of money and you only get to read them a couple of times.

u don't have to pay for the book. that's the main advantage. u just pay them once a year some money (about 5 euros at my place) and that's all. also some books are only available at library.

okay you don't have to pay yeah but you don't own that book that way. okay I know you said you don't read a book more than once but for someone who does I think it's better if he/she has it and it's his/her not belongs to a thousend people who bring it away and back etc. True some books are only in libraries and cause of that it worth a visit of course but if we speak about "ordinary" books I don't prefer a library.

Yes that is in a library true. But new books are not in the library and you can't know if they are good or not if you don't buy them.

Because you only read them a couple of times and they're too expensive, i'd rather buy a CD for half the price and listen to it a thousand times (which I do). And there are no libraries for CDs.

But that is just my opinion.

You can read them many times if you wish. And it's totally different experience than listening a cd. Buying books is not waste of money. it was never, and it won't be.

well i spend my money on a good book or an good movie.
there not that expensive and books can be read very often, i have books which are nealy falling apart cause i read them to often.

I love reading so I have LOTS LOTS LOTS of books(they are all in the boxes ).Since there is no place at my house in Izmir,I gave lots of them so my friends.I really like to buy books. I do not prefer library because libraries in Turkey (at least the ones I saw suck)

cool. have been there, too, in 2001. has been a childhood dream of mine, since I have been 6 years old. Wanna go again one day. especially as I haven't seen Cairo yet. I visited various places along the Nile between Luxor and Abu Simbel. where in Egypt have you been?

@Reb-I went on a cruise from Cyprus to Port Said and from there we went to Giza first to see the pyramids and then to the Cairo museum but it was all in one day so it was a real rush. I would love to go again someday too. It was a really magical trip

@Tina-haha yeah come on we need an Elena book!!
