Re: Ireland 2012
It would not surprise me if they come back to the audition next year for Ireland. But the question is, will they then go to final?
Is it known how many votes Ireland got in their national selection, compared to the others?

Re: Ireland 2012
With Lipstick they won with only 1 point in Ireland, and this year it was 20 points difference. They got the most points from the juries and the public. But their national final this year was rubbish. The only good entry was Waterline, if they had decided on another song they wouldn't even have qualified.
Re: Ireland 2012
yes. because they will be in sweden then, and I want to see them. But I want to go to ESC even if they won't take part.
Re: Ireland 2012
That would be good for you then!
Well, I think they might have big chances to go to eurovision next year too. Even if they are smaller after this placement.

Re: Ireland 2012
Interesting that Sweden gave them 12 points last year but only five points this year. Maybe people didn't like the song as much this year?

Re: Ireland 2012
I think last year it wasn't just fans who voted, i think many liked them and song. this year maybe it was mostly fans who voted for them. but still, it's weird.

Agree
And It's weird Russia gave them 10p in the semi and 0 in the final...
And that San Marino gave 12 and then 0...
Re: Ireland 2012
Do you know all countries Russia gave points in the semi final and final?

Ireland spent 554.000€ in total for eurovision 2012.

That is pretty much!

Re: Ireland 2012
yeah it is, but i know that jedward payed a lot of the expenses with their own money. so it's not just rte who paid for all of it.

That's not much considering they did a promo tour, if you minus the fee to take part it's probably not that much. Can you imagine how much France paid, Angunn was everywhere promoting .. Didn't work though
Re: Ireland 2012
Maybe not so much anyway, but still it feels like a lot.
I would like to know how much melodifestivalen + ESC costed for Sweden!

It must cost SVT a lot of money because they stage the 6 shows themselves, there's the participation fee too, maybe that's why they don't do promo tours.
Re: Ireland 2012
I hope Jedward won't participate in eurovision for Ireland next year too. They're so boring already. No offence, but I think that right now only their fans find them interesting. They are maybe cute but both of their songs from eurovision are quite average. They placed fine in 2011 cos they were something new and interesting but this year showed that they're nothing special.
Re: Ireland 2012
you know that if it was the televoters who had decided, they would have placed 10th? so your theory falls through. i know a lot of people who aren't fans of them but still can enjoy their music.
they are not boring at all, god, they are so funny! and even if i wasn't fan i would think that. my mother actually liked them before, she thought they were very charming and cute when they sang Lipstick. And she liked them this year too, even my dad did.
so that's for your theory that you think people were tired of them. It wasn't the televoters who didn't like them, it was the juries, a BIG difference.

Re: Ireland 2012
lol, of course you two as fans will say that and agree with each other
well, as I said no offence, it's just my opinion. I hope they won't appear in Eurovision in Sweden. For God's sake guys, find different way to expand your public. Two times on eurovision is more than enough.

Well the point was that the theory doesn't work, but it's ok if it's your opinion. I know loads of ppl who like them without beeing fans
For me it doesn't matter if they're in ESC or not, I would prefer not though, but they love ESC so they're not doing it to expand their public, they already did that last year this year kinda everyone knew who they were I think they do it mainly because it's fun and they love performing to such many ppl
Re: Ireland 2012
it's not my 'theory' lol, but my opinion. Anyway the point was that I don't wanna see them there anymore cos they're boring XD
but well, who knows, maybe they can do something extraordinary next year.

Re: Ireland 2012
yeah, well we have to agree that we disagree
your opinion is probably the same what juries thought about them.

maybe some people think how they are boring or something ,but I don't think that,I agree with you Miranda that they are funny and interesting

Re: Ireland 2012
If Jedward wants to compete in ESC next year, they should considering making a different song. Or they will maybe get worse points from the jury then this year...

Re: Ireland 2012
They should have a song like "Young Love" in that case, cause that song placed good in many itunes charts when it was released
