Well, from that point of legal downloads it seems the song could succed in Greece with right promotion, and it's very radiofriendly also.

Nope.I think it's getting bigger day by day but pop songs like Psaxno never become huge hits over the summer in Greece. It's the dance/club songs that usually become instant hits.

But the song is on the digital chart, so it's doing well. Maybe with a stronger airplay it could reach first positions. Anyway, do you hear the song quite often on radios?

Re: Comments
Psahno is having a good airplay cause is in the Top20, but the sales are not so good... #21 till now (we don't know if it had a higher peak). I've expected more success for this song. At least An isouna agapi is doing very well, it peaked at #5 and stills on chart.

Are you joking? Porta, Petra, To fili, were #1 and big hits. Piro, Tha Me Allios were #2. AIA #5... and I didn't mention the old songs.

According to Mr. Stefanakis from IFPI, the new CD has not yet been certified from IFPI....
Someone from a Greek forum emailed him asking for Certifications for a number of albums, and he responded. Out of all the albums the user asked about, only three are officially certified. Coincidentally, Stephen (from our forum) emailed him as well asking some other questions, and Mr. Stefanakis responded this week, revealed that most newspaper sales do not count toward an IFPI cert. Also since labels have to pay IFPI auditors to tally record sales and give an official certification, many record label often decide to proceed with unofficial rewards not recognized by IFPI. (Especially during the time IFPI charts have been down, since the public can't check with IFPI) Elena mentioned that the album sold 12,000 copies in stores, so let's see if Sony will get an IFPI cert for it. 12K would put it at Platinum status.
He also said the new charts will be out this month finally! (With some changes as he told Stephen in his email....)
Anyway, below here is the email a user from Musiccorner.gr got:

Maybe Universal didn't want to pay IFPI to count the sales and issue a certification. Who knows. Let's see what the labels decide to do when the new charts go up, and the public can once again easily find out official certifications.Derek wrote:I'm surprised Hatzigiannis's latest album hasnt been certified yet.

I think certificatons in Greece are a mess since IFPI don't publish the official charts. Labels want to save money and give their own awards just for promoting their artists but without paying the auditors and the certification.
Surely GATO is Platinum at least, we'll see.

usually labels wait until they are confident that the album will not gain another certification.
It would be pricey to have to pay for the audit after it reaches gold, platinum, 2x plat, etc. better to wait and pay once.

sales are so low on the greek itunes that the top songs don't really show any trends.
